for parents

Purpose
Our purpose is to help students experience their own relationship with God, grow spiritually and socially, and learn to serve our world.

We realize that this generation has many obstacles and that parenting has more challenges than ever. We desire to be a support and a resource to parents and families.

Details
Hours: 3:00-7:00 pm on Wednesday nights for grades 7-9 and 6:30-9:00 for grades 10-12.

Parents can drop off and pick up at our student entrance. Please note that an adult must meet students at our building.

Our Wednesday night service is incredible! It usually features a crowd breaker game, worship with a live band, drama or video clip, and a topical message. Our services are not optional for attending students.

At First Baptist Church we believe that God's Word holds truths and principles that are relevant to students today. We endeavor to teach the Bible in a fun and practical way that enables students to begin constructing a foundation that will serve them well as they grow and mature. We believe that God has a plan for each student and it can start now.

Some of our core topics include:

  • Understanding God and his purposes
  • Developing healthy relationships
  • Honoring and respecting authority
  • Family issues
  • Making a difference

Security
FBC completes a thorough screening including criminal background checks and personal reference checks on all staff and volunteers.
Every room in our building has an adult room monitor to serve and assist students.
All students and volunteers are required to wear ID tags when in the building.

Rules and Procedures
FBC is designed to be a safe place where students can relax, have fun, and grow in their journey with God. We take the responsibility of safety and security very seriously. We have great students that attend FBC, so it is extremely rare for us to deal with significant problems.

Students who attend FBC must participate in the service. Students who need to leave early must be picked up and signed out by an adult at our Info Desk.

Our standard rules are listed on the back of every student's I.D. tag and posted throughout the building. In addition to those rules, here are some other important procedures:

  • All students must wait for their transportation in the coned area
  • Students who violate our rules can be suspended, expelled and prosecuted if applicable
  • Parents are notified by letter of any suspensions or expulsion
  • Adults are not permitted to enter our building unless they are screened volunteers or staff. A volunteer would be happy to help you locate your student if necessary.
  • Please feel free to contact us for any further information or a personal tour

Activities
Several times per year FBC holds events or retreats. Please note that all activity volunteers have been thoroughly screened and the safety and security of our students is our first priority. Our activities are well organized, supervised, and purposeful. If finances are ever a challenge, please contact the FBC staff. We often have scholarship funds available.
